Back Soon…

I know I’ve been MIA the last few weeks….hopefully things at home and at work will quiet down after Thanksgiving and I can be back with regular posts! I really do miss posting, I just don’t have time!!

My mom recently introduced me to Alice. This a great website for purchasing household items like toilet paper, Ziploc bags, diapers, dog/cat supplies, shampoo, and even Kashi cereal!

Basically, you go in and create a shopping list and then you can either order immediately or put in on the shelf to order later. You can also set your account up to get reminders from “Alice” when she thinks it is time for you to reorder something. One of my favorite features is that you can search for products several ways, including by room. This made finding the products that I wanted (and didn’t know I wanted!) very easy!

I decided to place an order for the stuff I hate getting at the grocery store because its so expensive, and usually I just run in a grab a few things at a time while I’m there. I found the site very clean and easy to navigate….and I loved that Alice will find and automatically apply coupons to certain items! The best part is….FREE SHIPPING ALWAYS. Amazing!  My mom said she placed her order on Sunday and got it on Tuesday…I hope mine comes just as quickly!

LA Recap

What a WHIRLWIND of a weekend! I still can’t believe that I flew to the west coast, saw so many great things, spent time with one of my best friends, and then flew back across the country all in 2.5 DAYS! Crazy! We did so much so here is a little pictoral recap…

I’m so glad that I work in a place that allowed me to take two days off on such short notice, I am also glad that I can afford to go on such short notice. I am grateful to have a friend like Diana who didn’t mind driving us to the airport on her wedding night! I am also so happy that my parents allowed my 17 year old sister to skip school, fly cross-country with me, and hang out in LA for two days! I wish we could have stayed longer but I am so grateful that I even went at all. It was a successful trip (even though we were very unhealthy about our eating)!!

Back to Reality

What a great weekend I had in LA (recap coming soon!), but now it’s back to reality. After looking at pictures of myself from this weekend, I think I have gotten the kick in the pants that I need to get back on track with eating and exercise. I have less than 2 months until our family trip to Florida and I don’t want to feel the same way about those pictures! (Although this is one of my favorites from the weekend…)


Soooo….I think I am going to start counting Weight Watchers points again. I gave up my membership, but after being on the plan for three years, I have enough knowledge and resources to do this well. I also need to make exercise a priority. Lately I have been running a little bit “when I have time”. Now, I need to make time! I have also redefined my goals and “rewards” for my weight loss milestones, but I am going to keep those to myself for now. I have written them down in the back of the notebook that I am jotting down my points in, so they are “set in stone”. Instead of “I can do this” I think I need to tell myself “I WILL DO THIS!”

Today’s eats (with WW points)

Breakfast: Pomegranate Chobani with 1/2 cup Pom arils (4)


Snack: Handful of baby carrots (0)


Lunch: Arnold Thin with Morningstar Veggie Burger and salsa (3)

Orange Bell Pepper (0)

Honeycrisp Apple (1)


Trader Joe’s “This Fig Walks into a Bar” (2)


Snack: Banana Tootsie Pop (1)


Dinner: I think we are having homemade chicken nuggets with roasted potatoes….Probably a Fuji apple as well.

As for exercise….I went out at lunch and walked 1.68 miles and jogged for .5 mile as well. It’s a gorgeous day here in Michigan (61 and partly sunny!) not your typical November weather so I had to take advantage of it since it will be dark by the time I get home!

On another note, I am participating in Jen’s Motivational Matchup. I have been assigned to Beth V. and I can’t wait to get to know her!

Westward Bound

Well, I’m headed to LA for a long (although I’m sure it will seem short!) weekend with my little sister and one of my best friends. Since eats haven’t been exciting this week (although I have been loving my oats with brown sugar an pomegranate arils!) and exercise has consisted of treadmill running, I thought I would post my new favorite (EASY!) recipe. I created this one night when I had nothing planned for dinner and it turned out wonderfully. I have even made it a day ahead of time, refrigerated and then baked the next day. Yum!

Easy Cheesey Pasta Bake

8 oz. uncooked cavatappi pasta

12 (or so) pre cooked meatballs, diced into small pieces (or could use mushrooms, fake hamburger, ground beef-turkey-chicken)


2 cups low fat shredded mozzarella cheese

1 jar of your favorite pasta sauce


Cook pasta until just about done. Drain and put in the bottom of a 9×13 baking dish.


Sprinkle 1 cup of cheese over pasta. Heat pasta sauce and meat in a sauce pan. Once heated, spread over cheese and pasta. Cover with remaining cheese.

100_1650Cover with foil and bake at 475* for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake until cheese is golden and gooey.


So easy and so good!

I'm Becci, a twenty something from a small farming community in Michigan. I grew up on a farm and still live on one...I can't imagine it any other way! Although, I do love to travel and see the amazing places the world has to offer! I have always struggled with my weight and living a healthy lifestyle, but that's about to change! This is my journey to eating healthy, traveling, and hopefully accomplishing my goal of running a marathon all while enjoying the country life!
